The paradoxes
The piece of music contains two sequences of scintillating sounds, first high-pitched and then a little lower, which evoke the stars and the piercing gaze of hyenas. Their color translates in a subjective way, probably synaesthetic, the sensation that the tone of the sound provides.
In the first part of the piece, the envelope of the sounds and their modulation - especially the slowness of the attack and the decay - are associated with the sinuous shape of the aurora borealis. Subsequently, much more abrupt, rapid and unpredictable modulations accompany, like roars, the scene that unfolds in the lower part of the painting.
